📊 How the Overall Ranking Works

The overall ranking is determined using a formula that balances consistency and recent performance.

  • Each bar's entire historical rankings are considered
  • Older rankings count less because we prioritize recent performance
  • Bars that appear in multiple years score higher than those that appear only once
  • The ranking formula applies a "decay factor" (or λ) to older rankings, reducing their impact over time

The Formula

We use the following weighted decay formula to compute the overall score:

Score = Σ (1 / Rank) × e^(-λ × (Current Year - Year))

This means bars with higher and more recent rankings are prioritized, while older rankings gradually lose their influence.
